Westwood's 124 halfway score tied the lowest 36-hole total on the Asian Tour.

Westwood, 38, carded eight birdies in a bogey-free round to equal the record set by Thailand's Chapchai Nirat at the 2009 Sail Open in India.

American two-time major winner John Daly is second in the clubhouse after a second-round 73, 14 shots behind.
