Britain's Andy Murray has moved into the quarter-finals


1 7-5 Britain's Andy Murray has moved into the quarter-finals of the Japan Open with a 6-1 6-2 victory over Alex Bogomolov Jr of the United States.
The world number four sent down 11 aces and broke Bogomolov five times as he wrapped up victory in 58 minutes. He did not face a break point and won 95% of first serve points and will face either Ivan Dodig or David Nalbandian.





Defending champion Rafael Nadal beat Milos Raonic 7-5 6-3 and now faces unseeded Colombian Santiago Giraldo.Raonic double-faulted at 30-30 when serving at 5-6 and then hit a forehand long to hand Spaniard Nadal the first set
Nadal then broke his Canadian opponent to lead 4-2 in the second set before winning two service games to seal the win.

Fellow Spaniard David Ferrer beat Australian qualifier Matthew Ebden 4-6 6-2 6-2 to also reach the last eighFerrer will play the Czech Republic's Radek Stepanek, who saw off Marco Chiudinelli 7-5 6-7 (5-7) 6-1.

Murray awaits the outcome of Thursday's match between Croatia's Dodig and Argentina's Nalbandian to discover his opponent.The fourth quarter-final will pit fourth seed Mardy Fish, a 6-2 6-4 winner over Latvia's Ernests Gulbis, against Austria's Bernard Tomic who defeated Japan's Tatsuma Ito 6-7 (4-7) 6-
